Killed another transmission. It served a great life, somehow however, I have the ability to break anything, from young girls hearts to anvils with only a ping pong ball.

Those that know me, or of me know what it was. I dont plan on posting the trans it was, cause I dont want ANYONE getting the wrong idea.

The transmission was by far the best I ever had in my truck, and it took a **** load of abuse, hell just me backing down the driveway has been an un acomplishable task for at least one transmission in the Phantom.

Anyway, Im waiting to hear back from the builder before I decide how Im gonna handle it.

Shitty thing about it is my GF just bought us a ski boat (ok its a bow rider) and my boys just flew in yesterday. Im not used to having just one vehicle Im capable of towing with, but thats what Ive had for the past couple of months. Starting a lawn care company, and have yards to cut Monday. Shitty timing for sure. May even wind up with another back up truck before this one gets fixed.

i'm in the same boat as you except i had my stuff together for less than 3k miles.
downshift to first from 25 and up and it overrevs then grabs. Few ideas are forward clutch seal has a minor tear or something.
Then cruising down the road bout a week after i realized i had that seal problem"still fine for driving just not nailing it 25 up when it would drop back into first"
i hear some not so good noise...turns out when i select a gear like from P to R it makes a nice whirrling type noise then clanks into gear.
I'm told it sounds like the new yank blew a barring"sp"
so now i gotta pull it all out again have yank fix the stall and see whats up with the tranny.

A problem with your truck that has taken out so many transmissions, doesnt give you ability to F up a wet dream the way I can. You dont break em, your truck eats them lol.

Mine lasted damn near 3 years, Im very happy with it.. My tranny has eaten an engine, about 3 converters, and a couple of rearends, I figured it was eating well, guess I havent fed it lately, and I locked down all the other weak links I could find. Guess it just got mad at me??

I was thinking the habit was broken, I guess the addiction is still there. A converter doesnt take nearly as long to fix, guess the converters didnt fill the need

I killed number 3 on tuesday. It was BUILT. Turns out the converter is what let go. Less than 3k miles. Funnny thing was i went be the tranny guys house the night before to pick up some AN fittings and a cooler. One thing i will admit i cant complain about his pricing and i know why i prefer local. I removed the tranny on tuesday night and he tore it down on Wed night. Talk about fast.

Now there's an idea...

I knew someone was going to call me about transmission work after I throw away my make-shift work bench (this past week). I'm cleaning out my storage area with NO PLANS of having to rebuild a trans, and hear goes Matt! Buster!

I'm worn out from my round-about trip to/from Houston today, with a detour to a neighboring city for funeral services (family friend). Sleeping late tomorrow. 600 miles of driving in one day ain't THAT fun! But.... to see my truck run like a scolded dog was priceless. Now... gotta get to the track to put some numbers up. Hopefully, high 12s or low 13s. Runs much stronger now.

In the plans. Problem is rental companys dont let you tow. Big deal with lawn care.

Got a guy letting me borrow an extra cab Z71 for now. Hope mine is back up and running soon
