Well its not related to my birthday today... rather something I did this weekend....
Ya see, a buddy of mine cut his hand VERY badly Saturday night. he was also knocked simultaneously. So he was pretty much knocked out, bleeding out right there on the ground. I saw it happen but I was a couple hundred feet away so I couldnt get right there to stop it but, as soon as I saw what had taken place, I ran like hell over there to see if he was ok.

Turns out he cut his hand and wrist on a big *** warehouse door (skinned in sheetmetal with a jagged edge) and was knocked out by it at the same time because we ha some crazy *** wind out here the past few days... and the door got away from him.

Anyway, I immediately wrap his arm up with my belt making a tourniquet and proceeded to further close his hand wound and try to revive him. I picked his *** up and put him in the truck and flew to the emergency room where he came to and was taken care of.

When it was all said and done he was obviously thankful and very grateful I was there because he could have bled to death the way he was cut open... he told me in the hospital he was giving me his car for what I had done. I told him, "Its cool bro, let the drus wear off, then we'll talk about cars." Not thinking a second more about it after that.

Well wouldnt you know, the guy calls me up today and says, "Hey dude, I have that title down here for ya."
-I say, "Title for what you goofy mutherfuker."
-He says, "For my T-bird *** hole!!!!!You dont remember?!?!?!"
-I said, "I kinda remember, but I figured you were talking **** because you had a badass morphine drip LOL.."
-He says, " Nope, I'll bring it to you after I'm off work, its already signed waiting on you..."
-me, " cool, I dont even know what to say...."
-him," You saved my ******* life!!!! dont argue with me, its already signed...!!!"
-me, " Thanks dude... I still dont know what to say except Thank you, nobody's ever given me a damn car before."
him, " Nobody's ever given a **** enough about me to save my life before... I'll be by later..."

This car he's giving me is a '91 Thunderbird Super Coupe, It had the supercharged 3.8 taken out and a Cobra 302 was put in. Its got a solid 9" rear, Just needs a tranny.... Its in perfect shape otherwise.... paint, body, and interior is spotless.... the blown V6 is still on a motor stand in his garage... it comes with the car.

bottom line, - I feel blessed to be considered such a friend to someone that they would give me a car...

thoughts of an LS1/T56 swap have been brewing already I'd kinda like to leave it the way it is though just because of how I got the car and everything... He says gut it and make it a full blown drag car, but I'm not thinking that really.... I need a DD at the moment, maybe down the road.

Well I could see leaving it be considering the reason why you got it. On the other hand, Unless your just a full blown chevy guy, I wouldn't go Ls1. Think of it as a fox body mustang under thunderbird cloak. E303 cam, gt40 heads or aluminum if you got the $, and theres tons of aftermarket intakes to choose from. You could even ****** a t-5 or t56 from a mustang.

 

Thats great Silver-mod-o. It's nice that he's giving you the car but the gift you gave him is far more precious. It's amazing how fast a person can bleed to death and if his cut was indeed life threatening what you gave him was far more special to him.

I didnt really think what I did warranted someone giving me a car or anything bu if thats how strongly he feels then I'm not going to insult him by turning him down like that.... I have driven it before and its pretty firm but the AOD started to give him some trouble so he parked it. I could just do a built C6 or something... I honestly dont know **** about Ford's stuff besides the very basics. I guess this is a good time to learn.

 

Awsome man. I was thinking the other day how it'd be kinda cool to have a T-bird of that body style. Sounds like a fun project. We need more people around like you; there's damn few left it seems like.
