with a cam. I mean it shifts pretty dang hard right now and spins tires between first and second shift so i dont think it will last very long with a cam.

 

Roll the dice there is no real way to tell. I would do the trans and converter before the cam personally. Unless your parents will buy the trans for you if you blow it after you put a cam in it.

 

parents wont buy anything for the truck but im going to start working days and nights to double up on weekly pay. i want to be making 500 a week that will be plenty of money to get the trans and all that in a couple of weeks.

 

Where are you getting a transmission like that for $1000?

I have a vette servo and it doesn't break the tires loose. If you are breaking the tires loose on 1-2 shift with a stock transmission, something isn't right and it isn't going to last long like that...
