man ive had a weekend i wish i could forget!!!!

Friday evening i pull my tranny (big headache! and thanks to Dockrocker and Lilreddevil) i got it out with their advice.
Had a buddy of mine there helping me, we finally get all the bolts out of the bell housing, The stock torque converter bolts are a severe PITA!!!.

But we finally got the tranny out from under the truck and were on our way.
Got the new tranny that night, and finally got back home about 1:30am.
Called it a night when we got home and crashed. Woke up sat morning and tried to get back to work after running around gettin some ATF and other little things.

after about 2 hours of head scratching and about goin crazy, we come to the concluision that the Torque Converter is not the right one.
It is for a 700R4 so the pump splines inside the TC are not right and will not fit on the 60E.. The place i got the TC from was closed saturday and sunday.

And im not goin to chance my new tranny with the Stock TC. Id rather sit at the house and wait for the new one. not to mention tryin to take everything back out just to put the new TC in.

So as of friday night my truck has only moved about 1000yds back to the house on a trailer.. It will be sittin there until i get a the right freakin TC..

It makes me sick to just sit there lookin at my truck on the trailer. So all i have done is sit at the house since my wheels aint rolling and my friend took the key to his motorcycle with him.

To make it even worse,,,,,,, Im leaving in the morning at 6am. Driving to South Dakota to work. Wont be back till friday or saturday. I got a buddy that is goin to check the new TC when it arrives. So hopefully ill be up and goin by next sunday. And hopefully i can pay for the rest of the STS turbo and get it in by November 4th.

**** nonni, i hate to hear that. i was busy as **** all weekend and didn't get to get up with you. When you get it running again we need to have a meet again up at Obys and celebrate!!

 

If you have my luck not much seems to go my way when doing a project of that size. I did get to shoot my AR this weekend and it worked perfect! VERY accurate and the optic i put on it works like a champ. I had to order 500 rounds from Cabelas cause all my wholesalers are out of thecheap stuff(by the way word on the street is ammo is going UP!)

 

I dont want to here anything about not being lucky I Think that I am the king of unlucky when it comes to the truck.

Hopefully i can get the right TC asap.. i need my truck rolling this weekend!!!!!

What really sucks is, i had to pay for shipping to send this TC back, and pay shipping back to me!!
I hate this freakin crap!!!!

Come to find out i the TC i got was for the 4L60E not the LS1 type. or something like that 280mm vs 300mm?? Lilreddevil explained it to me.


Whats the TQ spec on the Torque Converter bolt specs?
i have to drill out one hole to a 7/16" on the flywheel or flexplate, cant remember what its called.
