Local performance shop found a 6.0 for me. They want 2000 for it. It is complete oil pan to intake. He has treated me good on everything I have on my truck and he said he trust the guy he is getting the motor from. It has 60000 miles on it and it is an 02 or newer. So is 2000 a good deal? It is an LQ4

I would give them 1500 no more, thats a good bit of miles on it. Im giving 600 for a shortblock that looks to be in a damn good condition. You can find that same deal on car-part for a bout 1400 if you look good enough. I would try and talk them down a bit thats alot for a decent amount of miles. I will say this, my 180K mile 5.3 when I pulled it the factory cross hatch could still be seen in the cylinder walls. I know my postis confusing the hell out of you but I personally wouldnt pay that much for the motor.

By the end of the year the truck will not be the DD anymore. About to buy the wife a new Pathfinder most likely and I will start driving her old car.

Find out where they got it from. If you have a few connections you can get dealer pullouts for as little as $500. Back when my 4.8 cratered, I had it replaced under warranty and bought my old longblock back for $350.

Mine is definately a much better deal. I will include new 317 heads that I got to replace the 317 on the pullout that had 3 broken header bolts. I'll be losing my ***, but I have no need for it.
