So many forms to go through and get straight just to get it all done! Then everyone wants to charge you just for the forms to fill out. It's either that or pay a lawyer to do it all and no thanks on that one! Anyone have a Marital Settlement Agreement example???

i went through a lawyer on my first one.
by the time you fill out all the paper work.
pay all the fees to file and serve.
think you have it made and saved a few
bucks from oh how smart you are.
her lawyer will flip the paprework around,
have wondering witch hand to wipe your back side with,
and the oh **** i need to pay for one any way kick in the ***.

 

yeah, well I am back in Arkansas right now and we are filing together, no lawyers or anything. we have nothing to split, no debt, property, kids nothing. Truck is in my name and she has her car in her name. should be easy now. Got a kit from a friends mom and it is helping quite a bit

My divorce was done all by me. We had a child and all. Divorce was final in Jan 2000. Last year she got a lawyer to try and take my boy on full custody. My seperation agreement squashed any attempt. Make sure you cover EVERYTHING even if it seems simple, if you'll have something of ANY value in years to come and you croak, she could cause havik on what you leave behind for your then current family, that you also owned while married to her, ie; retirement. Social Security says if you were married for more than 10 years, she can claim part of your SS benefits. (I am assuming you are too young, but just an example of cover your ***)
