how did he see through it? something took out the oil pan and you were driving without any oil. boom goes motor!

I think he was speaking in reference to getting them to cut him a check. Beau you could still talk to the shop that is going to do the work and get them to hook it up on the motor, maybe pay a couple hundred extra for a new 6.0 over a new 5.3, Im sure they are damn close to the same price.

when i went through insurance i had the truck quoted and straight up told them that i wanted a check and that i was guna fix it myself. i fixed everything myself and sent it off for paint and pocketed about $1,000 off of the guys insurance.

It wasnt a collision....therefore it is not covered under my policy. I also have a 1000 deductable so whats the point when i can get a decent something for 1500? Im just gonna drive the f350 around for a while until i feel like dropping a coin on something nice.

Insurance covered my engine fire, I don't know why an object hit your engine is not covered, I would argue with them over it.
