Damn!!!!!! That sucks. When I first met you @ HRP for th first time, I liked your truck. Well, I ment I still like your truck even though it's broke......LOL!!!! I would look for another block or even one thats complete. If it was me, I would buy a new one from some speed shop or something like that. The reason is, my truck has 24,856mi on it and when my engine goes, I want to put a new engine in it because the truck won't have any miles on it. So I would want to have a engine with low miles........I'm not going to put a engine it the truck with more miles than the truck has on itself.

Wen I fried a piston, I just swapped pistons, and went with different rods (cause 1slowz71 hooked me up) it you arent sure the year of the engine, you'll have to pull one and see if they are the floating pins, or pressed pins though. I would definatly check the intake though. IMO if the cylinder walls are still good, I dont see any reason to replace the whole block. Hell I just pulled my old pistons/rods, and dropped the ones I got from Cody in there. Only other thing I changed was the bearings

yes, it was the comp cam 918s, i need to turn the crank to see if the cylinder wall is damaged, if not, then i'll just replace the piston... i know it is definately an 2005 block it only had about 30k miles on it, and thanks for verifing it was an LQ4, i also am impressed that it ran that good being an LQ4, i would feel comfortable in a buying a LQ4 now instead of searching hard for an LQ9.

Ya, if the cyl wall is ok get just get another piston, check the rod, and port the heads. I would get another head, don't run that head unless you replace the seats on that cyl. Once hit they can fall out.
