Ive been there and done that as far as stereo's go. Used to compete in IASCA (or whatever it is) for sound quality, built custom boxes, and installed stereos for a living. Im getting older and dont need 2-12's, or anything near that. Im trying to decide between 2 6" JL Audio subs, 2- 8's (unsure of brand) or 1-10. As far as door speakers, I think Im going to go with Polk 6 1/2 2 ways. I usually hate co-axial speakers, and usually go with components, however, Im not as picky as I used to be, and I put 4 Polk's (same ones Im thinking about for the truck) and a kicker 12 in the boat, and it ROCKS. Im thinking about the smae 6 1/2's and 2 -8's should fit me perfect.

Any suggestions for amps or different opinions?

Trying to keep it financially reasonable and dont need a whole lot, just need to improve on the stock system.

 

i put 2 8's in a downfire box under the rear seat of my crew cab. i have less than $400 in the whole setup. box off ebay 2 fosgate 8's from crutchfield and a sony amp from circuit city.
