you can go ase.com. register for them and find testing locations. it should be about $65 to take a test. there are lots of tests..

yeah just go to the website and look for testing locals and sign up for them...I'm ASE master and I didnt find the tests to be impossible, a few questions were challenging and some of the questions were outdated. I think someone with a very good understanding of basic automotive mechanics can pass the tests.
I think that you have to have a certain amount of years of actual experience (2yrs maybe) to get your papers though.

MOST times you will need some experience to pass the tests. Best advice I can give you is to go to a dealer and start by changing oil, or an apprentice of some kind. Thats what I did. Here I am 9 yrs later, ASE master certified and GM master certified.... woohoo

^^ Yep, if you find a shop that supports the ASE program, they will usually pay for you to take the tests. If you have the experience they are pretty ease. Of course I only took what I need to get my "master truck tech".....
