Default are 243's worth $600?

Found a brand new set assembled for $600....is it worth spending the $300 extra over some 317's w/ 1,000 miles for $300? How much does it typically cost to mill .030 on the 317's?

I can't decide what heads to get for the LQ4.... cam is 224/224 .581/.581 115 LSA.

Kevin, thanks for the info. I did a search but couldn't find anything for $400. Do you know who the poster was?

I paid 500 for my 243. They were off of a 05 GTO w 2000 mile, had them milled .035" at nickens of conroe. If you are going to stay NA then the 243 milled...if your going to do a FI then go with the 317's

Thanks Kevin, lol I was looking in the FS section. He said they flow around 260 @ .600 lift, that sounds a little weaker than some of the other ported heads I've seen for sale (of course, I'm a newb when it comes to this so I could be wrong). Do the 243's not flow as well as the 317's?

How much did they charge you to mill them if you don't mind me asking?

243s flow better than 317s by about 20 cfm peak. They are the best flowing stock GenIII head.
