Question New sub-forum possibly?

I think it would be a good addition if we could incorporate a sub-forum under the GM tuning and diagnostics section to share tuning files.
Members could then post up (upload) basic tunes to share with other novice tuners with stock to mild setups in either HPT or EFI Live formats.

Would anyone else like to see something like this?

I think that is a great idea... I know others as well as myself are picking up the laptop and tuning our own vehicles. It would be cool t look at others and see what we might miss

I was thinking of something similar to (dieselplace.com)
Here is some snap shots of what they have available.
With the growing number of members who own HPT or EFI live I think it would be a great addition to the community if we could offer something similar.
It shouldnt be hard, DP.com is a Vbulletin based forum as well.

I think there should be a volunteer board of guys (tuners and people who know how to do it) that the tune would have to pass through first before getting posted up to keep anyone from downloading anything that might actually hurt their engine. I know the diesel place one has a disclaimer, but there are people out there who shouldn't be trusted with tuning software!

With how many different options and tables, and what each person has done to their crap, that would be almost impossible....

I could almost guarantee my bin file would blow up your engine... But I get what you are saying..

I think the use at your own risk about covers what needs to be said for a sbu forum like that. The tunes people will post up are ones they've been using and obviously there will be a description of it, so you wouldnt use a tune for a H/C truck on a turbo truck and lean it out.

Me personally Id be hesitant to load up a tune from someone who isnt well known on the board, I think most people on here are inherently good so I dont see someone posting up a crappy tune to maliciously hurt someones truck.

Ive used a bunch of the tunes off the various diesel site libraries with no problems. Some ran alot better then others but thats another story.

I think its a good idea, some should talk to an admin about adding that

I'm not saying someone needs to go through it with a fine tooth comb, but it would be nice to have someone go through and make sure theres not 40+ degrees timing across the board before some noob goes downloading any tune he can find.

I understand what your saying. Honestly, I doubt anyone would maliciously post up a tune to harm someones engine.
This feature wouldn't be directed towards a member that has ZERO tuning experience, obviously most of these tunes will need to be tweaked to the users liking.
By downloading the tune it would be the users responsibility to look over the timing tables etc. to make sure they are compatible with their setup.

In other words, dont just upload a tune to your PCM and go try it out. Take a look at it and see whats been changed, thats part of the learning experience anyhow.
