Cool, now if we could just get a moderator to read this, we might have a shot.

If people think this forum had too many sections, tell them to take a look at LS1Tech. We're about 20 sections behind them.

I like the idea. It would make our tunning section much more usable for me. It would seperate the "I just got a check engine light" posts from the custom tuning ones!

20 sections (as you mentioned, about) behind,

their total threads of 451,820 vs our 61,400
their total posts of 4,303,235 vs our 613,248
their pcm tuning (that has no-subsection) threads of 130,001 vs our 1296 (GM), 29 (dodge), whopping 10 in ford

now with that said, that's just the quick reflex response of me and my love to look at stats, but stats don't always mean anything when it comes to ease and what makes for a great online experience on our forum.

I am new to the mod scene and quiet a bit of learning to go on how everything works...in technical sense (your moving, editing, what belongs where, sections, so on). Seems to me creating a subsection would mean someone would have to sift throught the already 1296 threads in there and "sort" the ones that need to be in this new section. Yuck, but maybe a good thing in the long term.

On the other hand, we could just put <Tech Only> in our Thread title and when you do the searches, put <Tech Only> in the search and that should do quiet a bit of narrowing it down for ya. Ofcourse, that's new policy and people need to practice it to even help others who are doing the searching. Keep in mind the tuning section is also a diagnostic section as well. troubleshooting, codes, technical computer data. LS1tech has that in their "PCM" section too.

I like the premise of the idea, I am one whom is novice and is looking to learn from reading informative Q&A threads also. I am one who hates to see mail order tune questions in the tuning setion. I am one for a personal feeling website forum also. Think about it, HPT an LS1Tech has a higher chance of answering any PCM question you'd ever have yet we still post it here. Why, we are truck guys. We'd rather get advice from a truck guy than a FBody guy. And then again, look at the stats, there really isn't enough quantity to dictate a need for a subsection. FFW consider this thread read...and I am sure the mods who ARE after a good PT.Net experience for all will discuss it. Promise.

Blah blah blah yaddy yaddy yaddy is what I said.LOL Probably talk (type) to much for a mod I guess. Great idea guys, we'll look into it!!!

PS
Don't buy anything from JET Performance

I guess if it is seperated that our custom tuning discussions will grow here and not have to go over to tech or HPT's forum to learn.

I agree that stuff should go over to the Performance section. I've always taken the Tuning section to mean actual technical tuning discussions.
