Default RST turd

So i drove all the way to Indy from Home to drive an RST that the local Penske dealer has in on trade.. I thought that it would be a ball.. But it turned out to be a turd.. WTF. I thougt these trucks were supposed to be the sporty truck.. Then why the hell will my 07 NNBS blow its doors off..

I mean the truck didnt even have a posi.. the shifters arent even special.. Just stock shifters that are bent, have a **** and are chromed.. The seats were cool.. and it sounded good but other than that i wouldnt have it.. What gives?/?

BTW my 07 is heavier, bigger, sits higher, and yet has the same engine, is 2wd RCSB and has nothing but a tune and some 3.73 gears.. And it is an auto..

I was very let down.

tune the rst and it would be better also. the rst is basically an appearance package, only performance mods are exhaust, shorty headers, and intake.

you have to remember these are nothing more than base model smaller V8 trucks with a stick shift, nothing special there. My cousin had one, and I had a RCSB stepside with the 5.3 and I could pass him in street races. Just the nature of the beast.

You are paying for the regency looks package, nothing else.

The regency trucks are basically just for appearances

And I bet it was just a 4.8, stick a 6.0 in that thing and they're beasts.

Yeah RSTs are great looking trucks. They definitally need a tune. I hit the speed limiter on my drive home. That kind of let me down. But if all you have to do is invest a little in the motor to have a fast truck that looks good, why not. After all you can pick them up at good prices now. Try to build a reg cab with the options it has. Rims, leather, exhaust, roll pan on top of the base price of th rcsb. You might come out even. Now that I have one all that work I would have done slowly is already done for me.

Lts, cam, tune blah bolt ons blah. Semifast truck.
