I’m considering a 4l80e built by a local shop or going to a rpm 4l60e just so I don’t have to deal with wiring and different driveshaft.

The effort for the 80e will be worth it. If I could do it all over again it would be 80e. Learning along with the builders on the 6l80 was not fun or cheap. I’ve never heard of a 4l60 living behind a supercharged setup for long, the instant boost kills them, at least from my friends expirence.

Well, figured I would bring this back to life. Truck has sat on jackstands for the last year. I am going to go the 4L80e trans route. Deciding if I want to tackle it myself or just put it on a trailer and take it to a shop to be done. The hotrod power tour is coming through town this year, so I kinda have that as my goal to get the truck back on the road.

In talks with my builder now. Do you guys think it would be wise to swap my 3.73 gears out to 4.10s while I have them doing the 4l80 swap and a Detroit tru trac?

I can only try and imagine trying to drive that build. I put 400HP to the ground via 8psi in the weight of a 1500 ECSB 4x4 and stock tire size with 3.42 gears and hardly posses the skill to keep from roasting in an aggressive launch.
I guess I would talk to your engine builder what it would be like to run each those gears in your setup. Can't wait to see. If you don't have a name for her perhaps let it be RIOT!

If you want the most out of an inter-cooler heat exchanger see https://mercracing.net. He used to be a member here and still may be but didn't get lots of flow in the big 3 market and the imports found him, but if you want custom over off the shelf check him out.
