whats the difference between the t-56 and the 4l80e tranny???

its cool. t-56 is a 6-speed manual trans that comes in the 98-02 f-bodies. the 80e is a heavy duty 4-speed auto trans.

@matt - i went with a magnaflow catback and the pipe are almost where you need them to be. you will have to cut and well the tails to get them to the right location, but it sounds great. or you could go back several pages and see what i did to mine. i made the tips dummies and dumped the pipe over the rear axle by the back of the tires. check my links for pics and vids of the setup.

How many people broke off bolts when they swapped from the shorties to the LTs. Got mine coming soon. I broke one off when I changed the headers out to my old truck. But it had stock manifolds. Looks like there are different bolts. Didn't know if they were less prone to breaking.

I've looked at my Chilton manual, might be reading it wrong but 132 ftlbs? That seems like a lot on aluminum heads.

I didn't break a single one when i did my first set of LTs, and when i just swapped the pacesetters for LPPs a few months ago. I didn't need to spray the bolts either, but for the ones on the midpipe, in hindsight i wish i would have so i would definately recommend that. I use this stuff called "In-Force" made by BG, its freakin awesome; works in minutes.

I've had the bolts on the Y and cat back off several times when I was hunting down an exhaust leak. My fear is snapping a bolt in the head. I have some PB blaster. That seems to work pretty good.

I went with a set of the eBay OBX headers (price got me), I'll post some before and after clips when I'm done.
