yes you can do it yourself but on our trucks i really do recommend payin the 60 or 70 to the shop & letting them bust their *** to get em out.......definatly up to you though...either way you have to put the rear axle on jack stands...unbolt the bolts...jack the rear end up until the hanger hole lines up with the leaf spring...PITA...trust me...but i'm actually about to attempt it again because i have nothin to do today

 

let me know how it goes! get tons of before and after pics! and measure before and after so we can see the exact drop before and after. Good luck!

 

lol thanks man 1qkrst did you end up cuttin into anything or how did you get the sleeve of the hanger to drop into the bracket again? that was where i got stuck last time

 

That a somewhat simple job to drop it.

 

got a call from waldoch on friday and they told me the following
front air dam $425
air dam grille $90
fog lights $95
rear wing $375

 

did some work on the truck today. cut the exhaust to start setting up the final fitment.


and i installed my SSR engine cover

 

prices from waldoch are a bit steep! Must not realize how the economy is right now!

No, I didn't cut into anything but it was a serious PITA and I did mine on a lift! The way the bolts go into the bracket they run into the frame, and it makes it a pain to get them out. I had to shift my rear axle all around to just barely get them out. If you attempt to do this, make sure you have a friend to help, cause one of you will have to get the bolt out while the other wiggles the axle. It took me and my bro, on a lift, about an hour to do the adjustment to the rear shackle.

 

not that bad really.... drop the exhaust and un bolt the back 4 bed bolts an d put a piece od 3/4 ply wood tween the frame and the bed.... then unbolt it all.... and re bolt it up a hole...
