correct but the ls2 was never offered in an SS truck unless your counting the TBSS.

didnt think the ls2 was offered in the silverado too..but the lq4 has the same bottom end as the ls2 except for the iron and aluminum blocks, the lq4 has 71cc 317 heads while the ls2 has 64cc ls2/ls6 243 heads..

LQ9:Camshaft duration (@.050 in):196 degree intake / 201 degree exhaust
Camshaft lift (in):.467 intake / .479 exhaust Compression ratio:10:1 Maximum rpm:5600
Reluctor wheel:24X(don't know what it is just different)

LS2:Camshaft duration (@.050 in):200 degree intake / 203 degree exhaust
Camshaft lift (in):500 intake / .500 exhaust Compression ratio:10.9:1 Maximum rpm:6000 Reluctor wheel:58X

Looks like they have the same heads but not the same intakes. But like they said above there was no LS2 in the Silverado SS

and now for a complete answer:

1. heads
2. intake
3. cam

i believe they are iron blocks w/ aluminum heads...i mean the motors are VERY similar but the ls2 was really created for a lightweight car.....a.k.a...camaro...corvette but pretty sure they didn't come out w/ the ls2 till after they stopped production on the camaro...as far as i knew the ls1 was the only one offered from chevy

the ls2 is all aluminum and the lq9 is aluminum heads. ls2 is offered in the trailblazer ss , 2005-2007 corvette, and cadillac cts-v. Lq9s are in the nbs silverado ss. if your looking for new, i would wait a while or search for anything new coming out from gm.
