Default Joe Gibbs Trans Grenade

Thanks everyone for the help with the clutch issue. Two days after posting it my transmission grenaded in front of Turner Field in Downtown Atlanta. The 5 speed transmission was very weak and since it is still covered under warranty with only 25,000 miles on the truck, I dont have to pay a dime to have it replaced. Or I could drop about 3,000 for a Richmond or Tremac 6 speed transmission. What should I do?

it depends on if you want to mod the truck alot

turbogibbs on here had about 450-500rwhp on the stock 5-speed and some have problems before 400

i bet you could get a t56 from a fbody for less 3000

if money is not a big issue, i'd look for the t-56. Might want to go ahead and have the dealership replace the trans so you'll have a good one after you swap, or one to sell!

a T56 from the dealer out of an 04-06 GTO will run you about $2,500. Also check out car-part.com, put your zip code in and search for a trans in your local area, sweeping all the salvage yards

I'd get it fixed for free anyway, at least it would be worth something in re-sale. Then swap it out.

Yep, get it fixed, then swap.

FLT does hipo T56s now. Give Chuck a call and tell him your goals, he'll build you a tranny suit your needs.
