Default Joe Gibbs Silverado Clutch

I have a 2004 Joe Gibbs Silverado 4.8 liter Supercharged with a manual transmission and a weak clutch. If anyone knows, please share with me what kind of aftermarket clutch the Gibbs silverado has if it has one. If not, what clutch does it have. My clutch does not have the bite that I like. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks alot.

as far as I know it has a stock clutch. I'm not sure if they make an upgraded clutch for your application, but a sure thing would be a T56 swap and you could have your pick of clutches that will easily hold it.

They use the same PP and disc (as far as fitment) as a lot of the older trucks. Put it this way, I installed the one out of my 05 into my 95 1500 5spd truck. I used the 95 flywheel and 05 pp and disc. That will widen your choices out. I don't recommend a Centerforce DF with these hydraulic systems. I had many issues with mine.
My gibbs wasn't supercharged originally but the stock clutch held up to 445rwhp until I pulled it out for the T56 swap.

Default Clutch

I have a stock clutch set up in my 4.8 turbo joe gibbs, it holds for regular driving, with the mods that I have but just a few hardshifts it starts getting weak and smelly. I know for a fact that Spec makes and after market clutch in many different stages, I have heard different opinions likes and dislikes so I am not sure if I will be buying one I plan on holding off to see if I am going to upgrade to t56 six speed or a built 4L60e. www.specclutch.com

I realized that there weren't many clutch options when the clutch in my RST went. I wound up havin one made. The place i went to took a stock clutch and removed the material and replaced it with kevlar.
