Did they come with 5 or 6 speed tranny. Any help would be appreciated. I have the chance to buy the drivetrain from one.

Were there any s/c 5.3 5 speeds?

 

you could get the 5.3 with a 5spd. I tried when i got my truck.

No, there was never a 5 speed put behind a 99+ GM truck 1500 with anything other than the 4.3 & 4.8. The S/C JGP 5 speed trucks were 4.8's.

I took every avenue possible to try to get a 5.3 or a 6.0 in 1/2 ton RCSB 5 speed when I was in the market and failed miserably. Had to settle with a 4.8 to get the 5 speed. If the 4.3 was a gen 3 engine and used all the same accessories I would have just bought one and swaped all the junk over to a 5.3 or a 6.0.

 

That's what I thought. I wanted to get a RCSB JGP 5.3 s/c 5spd truck before I got the SSS, but there weren't any available at that time. Oh well, mine's faster now anyway One day though I'll build a 6.0 RCSB T56 truck
