my friend got a 04 rst 4.8 5 speed. has 95,000 miles on it. when i do a low pull in any gear it sputters and you can feel it missing. took out the plugs and #1 plug had unburned gas on it so i replaced it, still doing the same thing. tried using a plug wire from my 06 gmc and still did the same thing. i cant find the fuel filter to change it so it must be in the tank and i dont know if the problem might be the coil pack. help me out guys

 

sounds like you are on the right track...check for spark?

 

afraid to check. last time i got shocked how do u check properly

 

pull the spark plug out then reattach it to the coil wire and ground the plug to the block somewhere, that's what I've done at least.

 

Thats how I normally do it, it really is the easiest way. you said you had an 06 gmc...if you want you could pull a coil off of that truck and swap it with the coil on the cylinder thats missing. if it starts up and runs fine I would take a good guess that you need a new coil pack for that cylinder.

 

check for spark and replace the pack if there isnt any.
