The exhaust valves in a 243 are the same 1.55" valve used in a 317. Why not scab the 243's and give them the old 317's to send shrapnel into them lol. Being an 09 you still have the 9.9:1 setup.... might help it live a minute or two longer lol.
While I have yet to put hands on my 243/LC9s valves, all of my literature says they are 1.575 versus 1.55 for the 317s. Now that you mention it, I see both. Was there a change in 2010 or is the larger size an error?
My buddy runs a cylinder head rebuilding shop and I supply him a lot of 243s and 799s... plus whatever else. They all have a 1.55" exhaust valve in them. They could benefit from a larger valve as by the time they are cut to fit the seat the edges are knife edged.. And you see it becoming an issue on higher mile stuff right from GM. The older 706 and 862 heads use the same exhaust valve too just with like a 1.89" intake. The only normal truck heads with bigger exhaust valves are the L92's.
Alright I’m in class right now and need some help, what cam gear set does this thing need? 4x? The tech bought the cam in 3-bolt and it had a single bolt
So a update.... semester is coming to a end, a lot of debates with this silly project. Truck oil pan I told them would not fit indeed would not work, waited two weeks for a new one, flex joint between cross over to turbo was mentioned (over ruled again) to many chiefs on project.
Car still needs a lot... got trans though but no flex plate or converter :/ need accessory’s they are lost. So here’s as far as it has got
