Default 5.3 06 Trailblazer,does it belong in here??need advise

Just bought an 06 TB 5.3 rod knocking. Will bring it home tomorrow,I have to decide how to go about this.Do I repair it on the cheap or do I make a little bit of a hot rod out of it? Buy a new or used 5.7 crank then bore it to 5.7 I have a set of like new LS1 pistons on rods, then mild cam and exhaust it then I guess I would need better heads like some 243s.If I put some money in it I may keep it for awhile.Im open for ideas for budget builds what blocks interchange ect.
LH6 engine

Thanks

Dude I did this exact build with a 5.3 Saab that I turned into a 6,0 with anL96
It ripped. It had an LS6 cam and a 3000 converter. The cam left a lot on the table without a doubt. But the car ripped. The LS6 And LS3 are very similar but the LS6 has more exhaust duration believe it or not.

That's the route is take again without hesitation. Sell The parts off the 5.3 for what they're worth and move on.

Yes I bought a long block. I swapped cams to delete VVT. The HD motors do not have DOD, but they do have VVT and i didnt have the harness to control that on the car. I also wanted more power...

L96 should have 5364, 823 or in rare instance 0821 heads...

Ok so they are the rectangle ports, the engine in it still has the old cathedral ports.

dang Dudes I have a core L92 longblock,im saving it to build something expensive.

This TB is decent shape with 180k miles, paid little for it but when its dialed in its still not worth a whole lot of $$$ I need to do this on a budget.Well if I go the route going crank kit a rod and a cam change, still going to be some dough, just need to try and find the dealo
