Got bracket kit, not going to rant here, needless to say same shiii different week!!! At least i will be able to get them mounted finally this weekend....
Wow.....um yeah..... Anyway, planning on installing the brackets either tomorrow or saturday after i get done at the full time job for the day, may go ahead and get one done tomorrow and other on saturday.... Who knows!!! Almost thinking i have too many projects going on at once!!!
Went to start the truck, and battery was dead.... Again!!! Time for a draw test!!! Did go as far in the ridiculous heat as getting the brackets on the bars and locked against the frame, hooefully i will get the holes drilled tomorrow or saturday and be done with it, then to get headers in and figure iut where my voltage drain is coming from.... Really kinda over killing a battery anytime the truck sits for a few days!!! And dont want to finish installing the aux battery of its just going to drain it too!!!
Friggin rain...... Got the frame drilled and was trying to get the bolts through the brackets and the nuts started (which is a pita, get to that in a minute) and the sky decided to open the hell up on me..... And "slightly" flooded the parking lot, while i was under the truck.... If i had been smart i would have jumped the truck and pulled it in the shop...
So where the brackets hit the frame is directly under the fuel tank/evap canister on the left side and there is a hole in the frame on the inner wall directly behind the rearmost bolt on the bracket... Somehow i think the left side is going to have wires welded to the nuts..... Have no clue how i am going to get a wrench on the nits inside the frame..... The right side is not as bad, both the outer bolt and the rear bolt on the bottom of the frame are in, the front one is right behind the frame support xmember, which wouldnt be so bad but my hands are too damn big for that crap ill fight with it after work tomorrow.... Actually thinking i need to grab some paint or undercoating and hit the frame before i bolt the brackets up and then probably coat the frame and brackets once theyre on...
Finally done with the bars,
two weeks later... Thsi is where the brackets hit the frame... The rear bolt and the bolt on the side of the frame werent bad, its the front ones that were a pain especially the driver side, ended up dropping the evap canister to gain access to the hole in the frame.... I hit the frame with rubberized undercoating before i bolted the bracket down, i can make anything run...
Thought i had better pics of the hole in the frame in relation to where the brackets mounted and the evap canister dropped out of the way...guess not
Everything bolted down and torqued, including the shock i had lost the nut for when i installed the addaleafs....
In hindsight, and after installing these and looking through pro comps website, if i had to do it over again, i would have probably ordered a 2500hd bracket kit and the straight bars, the 3/4 ton kit has offset axle mounts which moves the bars inboard and the extra length would have probably put the brackets in a more accessible spot on the frame, in front of the crossmember that made installing these behind it a real pita... However i am happy with the end result, at least so far! Had to get home, so didnt really have a chance to drive the truck much , but punching it in the parking lot, i got the wheels to break loose and have no more wheel hop. at least as far as i could tell, the tires didnt chirp it sounded like a constant spin, and the *** end squated, whereas before it would bounce until it grabbed....

Thought the undercoating was going to be more of black, wasnt expecting it to be brown.... Once i get my headers in and have a chance to install a brake line kit(dont need it yet, but between mileage and age, dont wanna take the chance) and fix or replace the abs module, i may under coat the entire frame.... Hope to have my diff cover installed by end of next week and may take a day to get the headers and cats in.... Speaking of the diff cover i still need to get the right bolts they sent 5/16s bolts with it.... Debating on which bolts to use i have a bunch of 8x1.25 bolts at work from rear engine covers and valley covers i could use....
