Holy crap it took three days from california to maryland.... They must have sent them pony expres!!! And my diff cover has been sitting at ups since 530 am!!!
Supposed to be delivered today, but wont have a chance to do anything until maybe the end of next week or week after.... 14+ hour work days constantly are getting kind of old!!!
Brackets have arrived, finally!!! Installed bushings and brackets to bars the way i think they are supposed to go, the front mounts are supposed to be left and right but arent numbered any differently, only difference i can see is a very slight angle to the piece that goes to the side of the frame....think i have a plan to get these in early next week, my girl started a new joba couple weeks ago and its for a new store harbor freight is opening around the corner... And the next 2 weeks she is doing 6p-6a to get store ready to open.... So i will not be working the second job during the week, my thiught is my 15 year old can watch the baby and her daughter for an hour or two, and i can stay after work and get one side done a night as far as getting the add-a-leafs, new blocks and rear brackets in an hour or two and then the next night do the other side, then just a matter of lining the front brackets up and drilling the mounting holes, and mounting them!!! That last night i should be able to be done rather quickly... Other option is to finish one side one night completely and the other side the next evening.. Depending on how long it takes per side, dont wanna leave the 15 year old too long with the girls!!
Some bright red bushings!!!! Why cant the send black bushings?? I hope the brackets pull in a bit when they get tightened up, to take up some of the slack between the sides of the bracket and the bushings!! Last time i had something with poly bushings, i had to lube the bushing to get them to go in and then the spacer that went in hardly went in without trying to push the other side out.... These almost fell in and spacer slid in with no issues.....
I wouldnt worry about the tightness of the bushing my traction bar bushings arent super tight ether I think under load it will be fine. If you don't like the red just get some nasty dark grease and smear it everywhere!
Made some prgress this evening.... Pics etc in the trans build thread.... Kinda adopted that as my truck build thread at this point!! Got one add a leaf and bracket in... Need longer u bolts.... Story of my life!!! So close yet so far.... And i also basically figured out i am going to have to mount the bar in the bracket, in the process of installation ng the rear brackets, or take my brakes off to get the bolt through!!!
So had a meeting at work tonight, noone mentioned anything about until 15 minutes before i was supposed to be off...... So about only thing i accomplished this evening was formulating a plan of attack, and figured out that if i mount the bars on technically the wrong side, they will actually lay perfectly under the frame, however if i put them on the "right" way the pro comp logo wont be backwards and they will still hit the frame, but puts the bar closer to the tires and calipers etc....
First off i am not an artist, and this is what i have to work with at moment kinda hard to hold bar up with one hand and take pic with the other, but this is basically what i am talking about, biggest thing is i wouldnt be able to put shocks on em down the road is i decided to figure that little tid bit out, and the pro comp logos would be reversed.... either way i decide to mount them they will fit, and line up with the frame but this way tucks them inboatd a bit more!! Thoughts?
