I will put virginia on the list of states I dont want to live in right up there with south dakota and california haha.
The fabricator I use does great work but hes not cheap and prices of metal in the middle of the country is high! I think for $320 getting the traction bar all the poly bushings the shackle heim and yada yada was a killer deal. Just the thought of having to look for every little piece makes my head hurt. which reminds me they even include a bolt that has a zerk fitting so you can regrease the hiem and bushing with a grease gun. They really go all out and wheel what they sell.
As for the strut rods If they are bent I think he would simply make replacments out of thicker DOM chromo is to expensive here I need to check to see if the bushing are poly or not to and re-grease them. Think maybe adding a cross bar or and X would be benificial? They dont move at all during driving right?
Also the powder coater I use is a guy just starting up a personal bussiness in the last 3 years or so. does great work but is still new enough hes cheapest in town. Only $140 an hour next cheapest is $210. For my ladder bar and cross member He said he doesnt see it taking over an hour and a half blasting taping off and coating which I think is pretty good.
The nnbs truck fabtech lifts looks like they have either added braces between the front and rear drop brackets or made them as a subframe type deal, had one in shop other day one of the ither guys was working on i was more interested in the shocks than the lift lol!!!!
Probably because they have been tightening the reins on lift companies to make safer products. I just know I like to beat the snot out of everything I drive and all my break downs have been on paved roads thank god! So anything I can do to strengthen my chassis and suspension I need to do it haha.
Kinda wish I worked at a shop considered getting some cheesy part time job just so I can look at customers vehicals.
Lol, a lift is to look good. Alot of these companies build these lifts for looks and not to be abused. The old superlift 6-7.5 bracket lift i had before was pretty tough except for the huge rear blocks that they shouldn't sell. The idler arm drop kit actually worked and the suspention parts lasted 80k.
The coilovers with the ifs looks good, i think i seen them over on gm fullsize when atomic was showing them off. I bet its a whole lot better than cranked torsion bars. Honestly i've had no luck with foa, my front shocks came and one leaked in the box. They replaced it for free but that wasn't the point. They lasted about 6 months before they leaked again, i rebuilt them and put them on the back of my truck and went with kings.

You are both right! Lifts should be thrashed but now they are made to look cool will all your bros at the mall.
Im running bilstien 5100s in the rear now. They are better then the worn out ranchos that they replaced but I really want deavers and bypasses now!
Blocks have got to be the absolute worst way to lift the rear makes me sick thinking of all the Cen cal truck guys that have 12in blocks and do burnouts. Heck I had axle wrap without any blocks at all. I had good luck with FOA in the past and the customer service is great. How long ago did you get yours? they had a serious quality control problem a few years ago but have gotten better since.
Heres some pic of the bent strut rod. I was thinking to maximize ground clearance maybe ill have the new ones made with a curve but thicker and stronger material.
Thats a bad picture becuase the 2x4 I was using isnt very long. It is for sure bent just dont know if I want to spend anymore money yet. But do you think new ones could be made with a bend in them to give better clearance?
Good news is those cheap shocks I bought awhile back to try and figure out the vibration issue. Well I cleaned them up put them back in the box with all the hardware and returned them got my $106 back! They were still so clean and perfect I wouldnt be able to tell they were used.
Shocks and stuiff they usually defect out anyway after theyre returned.... How do you like the ride of the bilsteins, are they wirth the $70+ on average a piece???
