wait... so you're still running the 4.8 flywheel & clutch?
No No No! The 4.8 clutch was nearly non existant and the flywheel had some serious hot spots. The NV4500 clutch I got was just to OEM specs I think it's a LUK. I've already put right at 30k on the nv4500 swap. I never even really broke the clutch in. I remember leaving Smith's off road and matting the throttle in first gear spinning the tires in their lot. It was open header when I left their shop because they didn't have an exhaust bender.
But since they are the same 12in size unless the pressure plate is much different which it likely is. The clutches could be interchangeable.
hmm... well i ain't sure it's worth the extra $120 buying local vs rockauto to maybe see if i could reuse my stuff & return the 6.0 gear... but then again, it'd save $450 to reuse my current clutch/flywheel (that is, until i burn through it & end up having to tear into it again later - putting the 6.0 stuff in anyway)
Pulled some more parts off the 4.8 including the clutch. Anyone an expert on clutch wear? Trying to figure out if I should reuse this one, however to my unskilled eye it looks pretty rough.
I'd run that clutch, but being where you are just replace it. I don't like doing **** twice. It's like being in there to do a clutch and not doing the rear main as well

Yeah I know it will hold long enough for me to start enjoying the new power but like you said I also hate doing stuff twice. I think I'll just put this one in the spare parts bin and look for an upgrade.
I emailed Midwest transmission asking for their recommendation since they sold me the trans. It's hard to find clutch info that's not about a 5.9 cummins. I really don't want a hardcore clutch that's a pain to drive.
