Is my tranny going bad?

How would I tell?
I am about to take the cover off to see if its did any thing else to it.
I was merging onto 95 and I went WOT and it just reved and nothing else, stoped off to see my mech. and he looked at it. Put it into gear and power break it, not to do a burn out, and it went into gear and the drive shaft would turn and the tires would not.

Well come to find out its my tranny, dont know what is up with my rear but its my tranny.
Went to All Trans and thay looked at it and thay said that the belt is slipping on 1 to 2. Thay said about 1750 to 1950 to rebuild it and beef it up with all billit srevos. Upgrading everything, with me supplying the stall.
Is that a good price? He said it will take about 2 days to rebuild.

honestly I would go with one of the sponsors, get free shipping and have someone who knows these transmissions and do them constantly. For 1950 you can get an FLT lvl 4 and you still need to get a new stall. or 1900 a performabuilt, dunno which (lvl)
Atleast with one of the sponsors you know from everyone else on the board that they can take abuse and hold the power
Either way you get a warranty, itd be nice to have the shop close to home and Im sure they would cover the labor and all that good stuff, but personally Id go with a sponsor
