From my initial measurements the transmission is the same overall length and does have a splined output shaft. The mount on the transfer case also appears to the be same distance from the bellhousing. Not sure of the tunnel clearance yet.

Sounds good...thanks for the info. Thanks for the pics too, found the ECU right away of course first time hood up but wasn't sure on the TCU in my truck (wish the manuals would get here already, GM has moved lots of things around compared to my 97 and knew it was separate). Just haven't much time to really look around yet...

Need help. Do ECM's need to be married to the BCM?
I tried cranking over the engine today but nothing happened when I turned the key. The fuel pump didn't even cycle.
I took the ECM out and plugged it into a NNBS '07 and it did the same thing. Only the engine light came on when I tried to crank the engine over.
Any ideas?

Saw your other thread about this, just wondering how you are making out with the electronic issues?

Kinda getting my butt kicked getting the two disparate systems to work with one another.

That is true but how much interface does the ECM and TCM need with the BCM? Could a guy get a NNBS BCM and flash it just to fool the other two and get the drivetrain running? Wish those manuals would get here already...

Do tuning programs let you mess with BCM items too???

Not much of a parade so far...
As it turns out the 6L80 does not have an external TCU or a VSS connection.
I have a couple of companies researching custom harness possibilies.

OK, I am confused....I know most of the electonics are internal but didn't the tranny have an external TCU of some sort, how does it interface with the 6.2 engine? BCM? There must be a connection there somewhere for all that information or ...??

As always, typing things out is a PITA, makes it kinda hard to explain and understand...
