I got my roll pan in the mail today from but, I have a dillema. I love the backup sensors I have in the stock bumper. I would like to put them in the roll pan but the whole point of a roll pan is a clean look. Do you think the sensors will take away the whole purpose. Should I just leave them off?

 

My vote would be to include them. You're taking away the physical protection of the bumper so I think they'd offer good peace of mind. Good luck...

 

Maybe there is a way to mount them so they aren't so obvious.

 

I love having them, + I have a 2 year old so they give me a little added peace of mind. I've never seen them in a roll pan so I don't know what to expect.

 

Maybe you can put them on a drop down mount that comes down only in reverse. Its probably not going to be easy to do, but it would be the cleanest way to have the smooth look of the roll pan and your sensors.

A lot of hot rod and streed rod magazines/websites have drop down systems for licence plates. It shouldn't be that hard to fab up something like that. Also, stereo shops use a lot of actuators for amp racks and stereo equipment.

 

I wouldn't leave them off, I wish I had them, they are a great safety device. Autoloc.com has a flip down license plate bracket that you might be able to adapt into a flip down sensor bracket. I was in the same boat as you, only I wanted to take off my front license plate bracket for a cleaner look for car shows, photo ops, etc. but our state requires front plates. I hunted high and low for a retractable front license plate bracket but couldn't find one so I ended up making my own.
