Default Windshield Trim/Gasket?

Sorry if this is in the wrong areola, figured this was the best place for a 'body' question.

My 2011 Sierra seems to be missing a trim piece or gasket that fills the gap between the upper windshield and where the cab/roof meet. At least it looks like it, and also appears there was a gasket or trim piece there at 1 time. I can't seem to find any info on a part name or number anywhere. Any ideas, or am I supposed to live with the gap and chipped paint?

As far as I know there was never anything there to begin with. The metal edge of the roof does stick up a little bit and is a great spot for rock chips to happen.

I had a 2012 Silverado and so did my parents, both with factory glass and there was no trim piece there.
