Default Where can I get new gas lift struts? (tonneau cover)

I checked a few auto parts stores and they were all too small. The ones I have on there are shot, They are Springlift SL-28-70 but I had no lick online. Anyone know of a site with lift strength and measurements? Its a fiberglass cover on a 00 GMC.

http://www.mcmaster.com

do a search for gas springs (page 1060) then you can find the strut with correct dimensions and force which is probably the 70. Also the correct ends too.

Get me a compressed & extended length, and what style of ends are on your old ones. Then I will look at work and see what we have, we carry quite a few.

19.5 compressed 70# lift, 30.5 extended (could be longer) the ends snap onto a 10.0mm ball. Let me know, Thx.

Alwhite,
I checked at work(Advance Auto) and we can order some that are pretty close.
Part# 4281: Ext:35.25, Comp. 19.85, 80lb, $36.96
Part# 4972: Ext:34.94, Comp. 19.13, 80lb, $34.94
Part# 4968: Ext:31.85, Comp. 19.64, 70lb, $22.96

There were a couple that were identical to the ones you needed, but had the wrong ends on them. All of these are overnite delivery if you have an Advance Auto nearby. Any other questions let me know!
