Default wheel questions

i just got a 2000 (new style) tahoe lt 4wd 6lug. i was wondering how much tire can you put on 20s and 22's to keep a soft ride. i need as much sidewall as possible. also what is the bolt pattern and backspacing? new to these vehicles, thanks for the advice!

Yes, the bolt pattern is 6x5.5. Since you are interested in a soft ride, I would not get 22's. If you plan on keeping the 4WD suspension stock, I'd get 275/55-20 tires. GM uses this tire size on every vehicle they sell that comes with 20" wheels from the factory. The sidewall is very good and will give you decent ride quality.

I have 305-40-22's on my 4WD 04 Tahoe.. the ride is definitely harder than stock , but not bad at all. Not much sidewall. I think the stock tire is about 8 inches, the 40's are something like 4.5 inches.

If you stay stock height, do 305/45s on 22s...they fill out the wheelwell better.

yeah id like to have like a 60 sidewall on 20s if they wouldnt rub. 22s would look better but offer alot rougher ride due to lack of tire. thanks for the answers!!
