I like collinite 476 easy to use and tough. I also like chemical guys butter wet wax for a looking good but not as durable product

well still havent goten a chance to wax it yet, dang rain. do any of u use a buffer on yours? and what do you use to buff with? i wanna try and bring the shine out before i do the wax

I would do this:
Wash with a good car wash
Clay
Wax/Seal

All the above are good and available OTC. The durability difference between a paste and a liquid, assuming different versions of the same product, is negligible. Stick with a liquid if you don't usually detail as it will be easier to apply a thin layer and remove. It's easy to apply a paste too thickly and end up with concrete on the paint.

Don't use diapers! They usually aren't soft enough, but even if they are, they have zero nap so if anything at all gets between the towel and the paint you will have swirls. Stick with microfiber, the Vroom towels from Target are nice, as are Mothers and Viking towels you can get at auto parts stores. Meguiars towels are ok but I like the above mentioned more.

that would be funny to see someone rubbing a diaper on the side of a truck..i could see it on the side of an import but not a truck..

its not actually real diapers, they are cloth diapers (old school diapers?). its kinda just a soft cloth. you can buy them at walmart and most parts stores. they work really well on polishing wheels and other aluminum stuff, not so good for waxing.

i also use the NXT.
