Default 265/65/17 on a 17x8 rim?

Hi guys,

can i fit a 255/65/17 or 265/65/17 tire on a 17x8 rim?

A 265 will not bulge on a 9" rim.

i had 265 60 18's on an 18x9 and it was a little stretched, the tread was too narrow imo. if i had to do over i would do 285's
