I'm sure it's been answered before and I'm sorry but I can't seem to find it when searching for it. I've been searching for the past few hours and can't find it. I'm needing to know what offset I need to tuck 22's on my 4/6 dropped sierra, I know I need a 265/35 tire just need to find the correct offset so I cant pick some rims. any help is greatly appreciated

 

All depends on how wide they are.. Here's what you need to tuck on a static dropped truck

8"
Offset:+6mm or higher
Backspacing:4.75" or higher

8.5"
Offset:+12mm or higher
Backspacing:5.25" or higher

9"
Offset:+19mm or higher
Backspacing:5.75" or higher

9.5"
Offset:+25mm or higher
Backspacing:6.25" or higher

10"
Offset:+30mm or higher
Backspacing:6.75" or higher

10.5"
Offset:+38mm or higher
Backspacing:7.25" or higher

11"
Offset:+45mm or higher
Backspacing:7.75" or higher

12"
Offset:+63.75mm or higher
Backspacing:8.75" or higher

 

At minimum you need to add a .25" to all of those backspacings. I ran my centerline 20x8s with 5" backspacing and the tires rubbed the bedsides. I see your truck is a stepside too, so I would at least do a .25" more.

Common 22s are 9.5" or 10" wide. With a 9.5" I would personally shoot for a minimum 6.5", with 6.75" or even 7" being ideal. And for a 10" wide, minimum or 7", with a 7.25" or 7.5" being ideal. Do you plan on going lower?

If you get the right backspacing, you can run a 285/35/22

 

I dont believe so, I actually had it lower than this, had the back at 8 before and the rims/tires that I have now tucked great But I have no clue on the backspacing or anything like that of the rim. They are KMC Thunder 20x9's and are heavy as heck with a 275/40/20 tire. I'm looking at some rims that are

Diameter - 22''

Width - 9.5''

Offset - +30

Backspace - 6.4''

 

They should work, but will be like my centerlines and rub the bedside lips. I liked the 275/35/20s I had, but even went to a 245/40/20 to see if it would help and they still rubbed.

 

Dang. why must rim companies not think of this when making runs, who wants a rim, aside from a lifted truck or like a 16x10 , that sticks outside the fender

 

Idk if the wheel producers really think about us performance truck guys but of course you can go custom billet wheels but most of us are looking for a budget wheel so we can spend more on real mods. I deal with wheel companies all the time and getting proper fitment and going for the look most of us want almost always leads us to get a custom wheel.

 

A custom wheel would be ideal , maybe oneday I'll get that far, if I ever go that route I will definately narrow the rear to have a nice lip like alot of the RGV guys do. They have some amazing looking trucks, they cash flow in Tx must be ALOT better than here in Ga haha I'm doing good to have the 2000 extra for off the shelf rims much less the 4000+ rims that they have

 

If you look, you can find a nice set of Racelines for that price. Or a set of nice, used intros etc.
