I have a few sets of lugs that fit my truck and the wheels but cant fit a socket on them. Do i need a thin wall socket? Or is there s specific lug for these wheels that work with a normal socket?
I feel like a newbie. Everything fits so tight. Can manage to get a socket in there to tighten the lugs up with out hitting the lug channel and beating the crap out of it.

 

I had a similar problem. I bought my truck with those wheels and got a flat and didnt have anything that would fit to get the lugs off. but I hit up an Oriely's and found a lug wrench that fit.

 

Thats messed up. thin wall or what? Ive never ran into this with truck wheels. Ive owned over 5 or 6 sets too. It reminds me of when i owned a honda with 19s and had to us tuner lugs and key. Goofy ****.

 

haha yeah its a tiny *** thin wrench that barely fits. but oriellys has them man!

 

I guess ill have to go to oriellys and check it out.

 

A thin wall socket should work, Im willing to bet it'll either be a 19 or 21mm thin wall socket. If not you can buy some locking lug nuts, the key that fits over them is usually thinner than a socket and there should be no clearance issues with that key hitting the lug channel

 

This is rediculous. Ive havent heard anyone complain about this with boss wheels before. So this is normal? haha

 

A thin wall didn't solve the problem? It's normal for aftermarket wheels needing a thin wall to be able to get to the lug nut. This is dependent on the type of lug nut used of course.

EDIT: A thin wall is a simple fix.

Is there a special lug im suppost to be using? I picked up a 7/8 thin wall socket and its not even close to fitting in the lug hole.
