If u dont notch it your truck will bottom out hitting bumpstops if you hit a large bump especially if you have a few passengers or weight in the bed. If u do notch it your truck will have more axel to rearend clearance causing to ride better on rough roads but it could void your warranty.

Notching it allows you to keep the stock suspension travel! Drop it!! Looks good!
