Update on my 68
#24
For right now I'm going to keep the big block in it. Thought about making it a 468 and some form of forced induction. But I've always wanted one of these trucks as a daily driver, LS swap, overdrive, ac, etc.....After spending so much money on it lately and not being able to drive it, I'm to the point where I just want to DRIVE it! I've only driven the truck 1 time and that was around the block, with no brakes. So for right now, the big block stays and I will contemplate the LS swap.

I REALLY wish I would've had your shop for all this BS!!
Thanks. Noticed you are doing an LS swap in your stepper?? Any updates on that?
EDIT: from the looks of your avatar it seems to be finished. Care to share how the swap went? How power steering was hooked up, does it have ac?, etc...

Got everything off of an 85 suburban (disc conversion). Cleaned up and painted the control arms, installed Energy Suspension bushings, and all new balljoints. Painted the calipers. Painted the rotors and then had them turned.
You can get everything you need from companies like Classic Parts, and CPP. After all said and done I probably only saved $100 by going my route, but I'd rather save $100 and spend it else where on the truck.
Had I bought all the paint I used I would be over the price of a kit, but I used paints I had from previous projects. So that's something to think about as well.
Springs and spindles I bought new. McGaughy's, DJM, Belltech sell the springs and spindles for these trucks.
