Tire/ Wheel Help
#11
I have(or had) the exact same setup as 454. I cannot recomend the yokos to you. Although I did get 40K miles out of them, the were not the best tires I have owned. They were noisy, didn't ride smooth, and traction was less than desirable form a 200 dollar tire. I will have Nitto 404s on early next week when I get finished refinishing my rims. I will let you know how they do.
Your only other option for a 29" tire is a 255/55/18 which will fit nicely on a 8" rim.

I really don't know what tire I want now!?! I am defiantly ordering the rims Saturday. It will take 3 to 4 weeks for those, so I have time to really think about the rubber. I would like to run a 285, a wide tire. The reason for wanting 29" tire is that I don't want my truck to look like it need to be lower, you know what I mean? Any suggestions?

I'm running 18x8 Centerline archers with the Yoko AVS S/T tires-285/50/18.I can't really comment on the tires,so far I've been pleased but I only have about 1800 miles on them. You can check out some pics at

I had the 404 in a 275/60 when I first got my 18's before the truck was lowered and I liked them alot. I will have a set of 285/50 on by the end of the week once I am finished refinishing the wheels.

Great! Ordered the rims on Sat. They will be in, in about 3 - 4 weeks. About next week I am going to order the 404s 285-50-18. I had my mind set on the Yoko's, but it seems that they are hard to balance and they are noisy.
