Default Tire/ Wheel Help

These rims are 8 inches wide. I want to run a 50 or 55 series tire. Can I run a 285 50 18 and be fine, or will they wear too fast in the middle? Would a 275 55 18 be the same hight as the 285 50 18? I would like to keep about the same tire hight that I have now, 29inches. I like how the tire fills up the wheelwell. Also these rims have a 5 inch backspacing, will that sit the same as my factory wheel?

Photoshoped

Thanks

Here's a site I have posted before.
http://www.skperformance.com/WHEELS/...ne%20index.htm

I have never bought anything from them but they have a good site for info on centerlines as far as available sizes and approx weight. Just click on the stlye you want. There alittle outdated but you'll get the idea.

Centerline rules, As soon as I sell or reuse my 20's I'm going with centerline 18" billets with nitto 555 and 555r's.

the 20" goodyears spin bad with the stall and 4.10's.

Well, I think I am going to go with the Yokohama AVS S/T 285/50/18. Going to price everything Monday. BlownChevy do you have 5 inch backspacing?

Hey 02Silverado, I love the look of those Centerlines. When I eventually get rims, after my supercharger , I will probably go with some Centerlines too! They seem to be the nicest looking AND lightest rims out there.

I am sure the Yoko AVS S/T tires are nice but I recently got some 275/60/16 Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires that I LOVE! They handle beautifully, some of the best tires I have ever owned! They are practically UNFADEABLE as far as grip goes.

I would highly recommend getting these pirellis I PROMISE you will love them!

Man those rim's look familiar
Same rim's I bought for mine but I ordered the 20x8's.Section width on my Michelin 275/35/20 is 10.9" and they are border line on the width for a 8" rim in my opinion.Take your time with it and make sure you get what you want.Pic's in my sig if you ned a reference.
