Default Tire Pressure Sensor questions - switching around wheels

I have the 3 vehicles listed in my sig. Ultimately I wish to rotate tires and wheels among the 3 vehicles. The 2004 Escalade and 2007 Denali XL have tire pressure sensors, while the 2003 Denali XL does not.

Tomorrow, I plan on putting the 20 inch Akuza wheels and tires (with no tire pressure sensors) from the 2003 Denali XL onto the 2007 Denali XL. I imagine I will get a code, but other than that, the j2007 Denali XL should function correctly hopefully. Am I right?

Further, how difficult is it to remove the tire pressure sensors from the 2007 Denali XL stock wheels? If it is difficult, I won't bother asking my shop to do so. I will just leave them as is as the 2003 Denali XL does not have a tire pressure system.

I don't like the look of the stock 2007 denali xl stock wheels so that is why I am selling them on the 2003 denali xl.

At a later date, I wish to switch over the 22 inch OZ Canyon wheels and rims from the Escalade over to the 2007 denali xl (and conversely put the 20 inch akuza bounce wheels and tires on the Escalade in return). At that point in time, I will likely have to do the Tire pressure sensor switch (either using the TPS I scavaged from the 2007 wheels, or buying new ones). So the question then is, has anyone removed 2004 Escalade Tire pressure sensors, and how difficult is it to do so?

Sorry this is a confusing post. The basic questions are this: Is it difficult to remove the TPS from stock 2007 Denali XL wheels, and also from aftermarket 2004 Escalade wheels. If it is a pain, I will just buy new ones rather than trying to save the existing ones.

I would imagine with the number of cool wheels shown in this section of the forum, many have faced this issue. Thanks in advance.

Did the switchover today, all 3 vehicles good to go. In case anyone wonders what a 2003 Denali xl looks like with 2007 stock rims, here ya go. For sale by the way.....

Also, if you wonder what 22 inch OZ Canyons look like on a 2007 Denali XL, check out pic 3.

Bump. I have a buddy with a 2011 silverado with factory 20's that have tire pressure sensors. And he's wanting to throw on some 2006 silverado 17's without pressure sensors on it. Will this work? Can the sensors be swapped to the wheels?

The sensors can typically be swapped from wheel to wheel. It probably would be cheaper to have new sensors installed in the wheels without. To swap the sensors you will need all 8 wheels dismounted(that means both trucks at the same shop) swap the sensors and ideally should have a valve stem seal kit installed($4-8 each). So you have 8 mount and dismounts at $20+ each and $16-$32 for four valve stem seal kits for the sensors. So on the very low side you would pay a shop at least $175.

New sensors should be about $20-$30 each and you need to buy 4. So $120 or less should be the cost of sensors installed in your custom wheels.

The other option is you just stair at the display screen telling you have tire sensor failure. It will not cause any problems with the truck and how it runs, it will just be annoying to look at.
