Default taillights.

i finally paid my dad back for my rims. now i have half of my paycheck to spend and its definatly goin to the tahoe. i think i wanna get some altezza lights and then black them out with some limo tent. problem is i have no idea where to start, ebay has a few for like 80 but i want something that will last and if those lights are like the clear corners from ebay....id be worried about them. anyone got any good ideas on where to get them from post up.
btw i havent done any research but im just guessin that tenting them would be the best anyone have any other ideas thatd be great.

Get them smoked. I don't know what you mean by tinting them but to me getting the stuff in a can would work best.

My opinion is smoke or candy your factory lenses. Euro lenses of any type are 99.9% of the time pieces of garbage. The APC clear corners I had in my S10 leaked and the carbon fiber lenses in my Denali leak (just the right one) but still....

My advice is SAVE YOUR MONEY and don't get tailights of any type. Save up for something else...get a billet grille or something. Don't get altezzas, just my $.02

Also, what type of stuff can you buy in a can that will tint lenses? Id be interested in doing that to my factory lenses and taking my APC's and running over them.

Nice truck AC. I agree with you on the Altezzas. The ones I had on my 01 Ram fogged on the inside like a bitch.

As far as the can stuff. A lot of guys have candied their tails with testors transparent candy paint and then cleared over them. One guy got some nightshades paint and tinted them dark and cleared over them. It was on another site PM me and I'll tell ya where.

I am thinking of tinting(smoke) my tails and 3rd brake light but I don't know if that will pass inspection or get me a ticket here in Texas.

several topics on another forum about smoked/tinting your tail lights, i THINK all that you do is take them off and have someone put tint over them. dont hold me to that but there is severl threads going on about it of FSC and CTW

U dont want to tint them because the tint will melt eventually because of the heat form the bulbs. I would smoke them, its not that hard. Here's two pictures of my smoked 03's:

Hope this helps in your decision.

By "tint", I mean spray black stuff on them - like candied tails but black. Sierra is that what you also mean? I know you can buy them but those are kinda expensive, I am on a no job budget (can of nightshades and clear.)
