I just did mine yesterday - I mixed a black translucent paint in with clear base. sprayed on four coats. then sprayed two coats of clear. looks freakin awesome!

Finish sand before hand with 1000 grit wet paper, then clean residue off, and start spraying. No wax for 30 days!!!!!

I would do it all red, I will post some pics of mine in a couple of days, but you can pretty much get any candy color and spray. All I did was sand it first with 600 then I sprayed some bully guard adhesive then sprayed about 6 coats of candy (you dont need that many but i did because i wanted mine a burgandy color more than a red) then about 8 coats of clear. wait a day or two sand it with 2000 grit and buff it out with some compound and then some polish. But if you did a good job spraying you might not even need to sand and polish.

you guys are wasting material with 8 coats of clear. if you are going to wetsand it and polish then 4 is plenty.

I do agree with FogleMotorsports. Plus more coats you put on, the more brittle the paint is. Even when you paint a car you only put 3 coats (pending how transperant the color is) of base and 2-3 of clear.

I think eight does not hurt on the lights... plus i was spraying with an aeresol can. When I was going over them it just felt like it needed more clear. But I do agree four should do it.
