Default stock is best

after about 5yrs of dealing with these trucks and seeing them everywhere... i've realized that aftermarket stuff makes the truck look cheap. i think completely stock is best maybe with a drop and 20s, but thats it. i think all the little details and extra crap make it look kiddish and cheap. see what im saying?

I agree to a point. I like the clean look myself. I don;t really agree that they come clean from the factory though. I lke painted mirrors and handles. I also don't really like all the chrome and I'm not a fan of the factory grills and mouldings. I thin the SS looks pretty good stock.

I agree that overkill does make a vehicle look cheap, but i don't see a problem with something like a billet grill or cowl hood or a roll pan. I think some trucks just look bad a$$ if they stay within good taste. All the plasic crap the car makers put on vehicles these days is ridiculous and it really makes them look even cheaper looking than if you took it all off (which i'm sure most, including myself have done).

Yep, I hear you. 90% of the trucks in my town that have any appearance mods look cheap and tacky. They have tacky grills and those stupid plastic protectors and vent shades all over, not to mention the fake hood scoops that don't even match the body lines. Most of them have stickers or pin stripping.

I think the clean simple look is the way to go, everything on the truck should look like it could have come out of the factory. Hell, I even stripped all the stickers and badges off my work truck to try and make it look cleaner.

i just think the more stuff u do the tackier it looks, i dont mind leaving the stock front end and leaving everything plastic and leaving the bumper and stock lights on. i just like to have the nicest suspension and wheel setup possible. its just starting to get ricey with all the combinations on different silverados. like i think it looks good how all the lightnings, harleys and the ss's all look the same. i dont want to "turn my silverado into something else thats better looking than everyone elses"... cuz no one really cares anymore, everythings been done and its the same crap over and over. just drive the truck for what it is, and in the meantime make it fast as well

I don't want to brag. But I think my truck old truck looks good. I think it is "simple". I kept the same paint with a few added touches.
