Default SS seat upgrade/center console mod

I know a lot of people have upgraded to leather seats and its nothing new but i thought i would share some info regarding my mods to my center console...

my seats and center console looked like this before...

manual seats along with a jump seat that would not fold down...fine for a work truck but not very comfy on long rides...I had thought a long time ago i read that someone had converted it to fold down but never really pursued folding it down...

well i was hunting for a new center console for my truck for my t56 swap and i ran into a pretty good deal, full center console and heated leather SS seats out of a wrecked truck for $400 bucks...so i ended up getting the seats but obviously had to figure out how to get power to them...

after laying them on the bench it was pretty obvious what was a power and ground so i tested it on the bench to see if i was correct...

sure enough they moved...so i took out my seats and took out my jump seat and took a look at it to see if i could make it fold down...I took of the upholstery and foam off and it was just a tubular 'hoop' if you will...so i made some relief cuts and bent it down and re-welded it together, reinstalled the foam and upholstery and she was good to go...you can see some of the foam if you sit in the back seat but seeing that Im only going to use it like this until i swap for the full console it doesnt bother me...

I just ran a power into the cab straight off the battery along with a fuse so they work all the time just like factory...and of course just grounded them to the seat frame...

really made a difference with the seats in driving the truck, feels like a new truck heres the finished product...

Once i go to do the full console swap Im going to hook up the heated seats and stuff and install switch into the console itself somewhere

Nice!

I did mine on my 05 RCSB and all I had to do was buy SS floor electrical harness and plug and play everything work as if it were factory.
