Default SS body molding

Man, I went by the dealer today (looking to see what the new Colorados look like in person) and they had a SS up in the ramps. Was looking at it and realized that they ADD moldings to the lower portion of the body panels to give it that more squared off look. If you take the molding off, you have the standard truck shape. But they add the molding on (very well I may add) so that you really only notice it if you look at it closely; the lower panels were at eye level because it was on the ramps, so I think that's why I caught it. So basically, in theory I would think you could add the paneling if anyone wanted to , you'd be missing the main component though, the engine! Thought that was interesting though. Take a look next time you see one.

The molding hangs 2 inches lower than the regular body, giving you a lower look without the suspension drop. You could do a 2/4 drop and it would look like a 4/6 with the moldings.
