Default Which size tires for Gibbs wheels?

Well, I don't have the cash yet, but I'm trying to formulate my plan, but here's the deal.

I have a set of Gibbs 20's that I plan to install on my Z71, and I'm also gonna remove the 2" blocks, install 2" shackles, and get some lowering bar keys that allow for about 3" drop in the front. I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm gonna go with Toyo Proxes 285/50 20...but lately I've noticed a truck or two with some new style BFG 305/50 20's that look fairly decent, although they might kinda be overkill...and I'm sure they're at least somewhat heavier than the 285's.

I only plan the suspension mods that I mentioned, so I don't want too much wheel well, but I also don't want a tire that's gonna bulge on the rim, and possible stick out kinda funny, not to mention, possibly rub.

Pics would be greatly appreciated if possible. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Billy

I think you would be safe with the 285/50s. 99Silver6.0 has a 2/4 and 285/50 on his 2wd and it looks real good! You would have a little more clearance since you're 4wd.

285/50 is a sure bet!! Unless you want a fatter tire with the 305.

305's would bea little much IMO... I had 285's on an 18" wheel and the looked nice... I say 285 for you

I have Toyo 305/50/20 and they do rub a little on turn against the sway bar. I like thicker tires though and don't mind a little friction. I posted pics last week and you can see my dirty *** wheels and tires if you want an idea.

285/50's would look good with that wheel. That's the size I'm running with a 2.5 in. drop in the rear and there's plenty of clearance so your 4x4 will have plenty as well.

Thanks for all the input guys...I really like the way the 285's look on your trucks, plus I guess the slightly smaller diameter couldn't hurt at the track. I'm gonna try to find the pics of yours tarinitup just to get an idea of what the 305's look like also. I still have to save up the dough for the meats anyway
