Should I go with the Street or Offroad look?
#1
I've been all about putting my new Sierra up in the air (9" Cognito with 37s) but there is part of me that likes it at the stock height. So I'm trying to decide between putting these parts on and going with the Offroad look or bolting on some dubs and keeping it Street.
Pros and Cons in my mind -
Offroad -
Pros -
The truck will look badass up in the air!
I can pretty much go anywhere with it.
I can run over stuff if I want to.
People move out of the way of lifted trucks.
Cons -
Ride quality can go down.
It attracts unwanted attention from the people driving the cars with blue lights on the roof.
Inspection guy deserves a "tip" once a year.
Putting stuff in the bed means lifting it waaaaayyyyyyy up.
Street -
Pros -
The truck can still look good with big wheels.
Factory ride quality
Don't need a parachute to get out.
Much easier to put stuff in the bed.
Cons -
Can't run sh*t over.
2 feet of snow can be a problem to drive in.
Doesn't have the same "get out of my way" look.
Decisions, decisions... I have a pallet full of lift and wheels sitting at the shop. I had planned to install it already but will be towing to NJ in a few weeks and want to have a good ride down there.

This is the way I think:
-If it is a diesel then it need to be lifted.
-If you have the abiltiy of having a power at your hands or off the shelf. Then definatly lift it.
-There is nothing better than having the feeling that you not only have something tall but something that will blow the hoods off many cars.
Lowered:
-If you want that performance tough *** look.
-There is no reason why you need a lift. (but in your case you do)
-Second you just like riding low.
Why not just have two trucks: one for each case. But I think I would lift that big thing.

I would go for the street look. It would look really sweet with some 20" wheels (moregrip's are awesome). The truck looks great already, but some wheels and tires would just set it off. Also, is that truck 2WD?

High, low, high, low... to many options!
The truck is a 4WD powered by the DuraMax. This motor is screaming for a few hundred more ft-lbs of torque. That will be happening soon.
